 Contrary to popular practice, a mission statement and a vision statement are neither interchangeable nor mutually exclusive.  A Mission Statement is a prerequisite to developing a good Vision Statement. 

You should write a Value Statement only after you write  the Mission Statement. You should write a Culture Statement only after you write the Vision Statement.
